Tom Vens who is the Ambassador said after the electoral process some of the EU observers left the shores of Sierra Leone to the United Kingdom, adding that some of the EU observers who came with electronic equipment to Sierra Leone will not be taking them back, and so they decided to give the equipment to their partners, adding that even though the election process was challenging and tense, Sierra Leoneans came together to work for the betterment of the country.

He mentioned that the last group of EU observers will leave the country soon and that they will publish a compressive report and recommendation to the government of Sierra Leone on the electoral process that will prepare the government for another electoral process.

Kelvin Lewis, President of SLAJ registered his thanks to the European Union for their continuous support and the role they played during the election process.

Memunatu Pratt, Head of Peace and Conflict Studies at Fourah Bay College said the presence of the European Union helped allay the fears of the people and that their constant monitoring of the election process resulted in the process being credible.
