One forty three years old man, Abdulai Jalloh has been incarcerated at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown by Abdul Sheriff presiding over the Freetown Magistrate Court No.7 at Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown. He allegedly sexually penetrated his own daughter under the age of eighteen years (name withheld).
The accused person is charged with the offence of Sexual Penetration of a Child, contrary to Section (19) of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012 of the country’s laws.
According to the Particulars of Offence, the accused person Abdulai Jalloh penetrated the sex organ (vagina) of his own daughter on Sunday 27 May 2018 at Binkolo, Kissy Dockyard within the Freetown Judicial District, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
In her statement to police, the mother of the victim said that on the day in question, she went to launder some clothes at a nearby stream at Kissy Dockyard, and that upon her return, she met the victim sitting outside their apartment.
She narrated that when she inquired from her daughter why she was sitting outside their apartment, the victim’s mother stated that her daughter told her that her father had penetrated her sexual organ and her anus using his penis, and that she did not feel fine about her father’s abominable act; the reason why she was sitting outside.
The complainant further told police that her father had had sex with her on several occasions and that at one point had threatened to kill her with a kitchen knife, if she refused to have sex with him.
The victim also informed police that after her father had penetrated her sex organ, she felt bad and came out of the room to wait and complain to her mother who had gone to launder some clothes at a nearby stream at Kissy Dockyard in the eastern part of Freetown.
The accused was arrested on 10 July 2018 by Police Sergeant Claudius Moses attached to Kissy Dockyard Police Station.
Magistrate Abdul Sheriff ordered that forty three –year old accused Abdulai Jalloh be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road in Freetown.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Sergeant Musu Kpulun and matter adjourned to Monday 30 July 2018 for further hearing.
