According to Mr. Mambu, he was actively involved in the project when it all started but after all efforts from various stakeholders associated with the project, it was made to become stalled by government without any explanation.

He said respective stakeholders’ efforts were all frustrated by the higher authorities responsible to see the successful outcome of the project.

Responding to Mr. Mambu’s assertion, Chairman of the Board of the National Telecommunications Commission (NaTCOM), Momoh Kemoh Konte debunked the claim that the project dead and buried.

He informed Mambu and his audience that the Fiber Optic cable has been landed and that the service is actively working.

He said most of the mobile telephone calls to Sierra Leone from overseas and the internet services used in the country are made possible through fiber optic service.
