President Bio wrote on saying: “Today, I joined my colleagues Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria, for an Extraordinary Summit on the political, peace and security situation in the subregion.

“Our resolution at the Summit has once more demonstrated our collective resolve to promote peace, unity and brotherhood in our subregion. We remain resolute in our commitment towards pursuing amicable solutions to the prevailing challenges in our Community. We are confident that we shall emerge stronger and more united in pursuit of our collective objectives as enshrined in the Revised ECOWAS Treaty”.

The Authority of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS convened the Summit and the ECOWAS Leaders considered and discussed the political situation and recent developments in the region.
