It can also be recalled that earlier yesterday, the National Publicity Secretary 1 for the APC, Cornelius Deveaux posted on his Facebook wall saying: “Alpha Khanu and Victor Foh are not representing the APC at the Bintumani 3 conference.
Alpha Khanu actually begged the Minister of Political Affairs Foday Yumkella to be invited and to chair a session. At one of the preliminary meetings yesterday at the same Bintumani, the SLPP Minister disgraced Alpha Khan by reading Alpha’s text message to the meeting and it was at that meeting that the Minister said Alpha would be invited so as to paint a negative picture of the APC.”

Deveaux went further to blasted former Minister Khanu, describing him as an unruly and disobedient party member who will be dealt with for disobeying the party decision.

Deveaux said, “the APC as a party will not be sending a representation to the Conference.”
According to him, the decision of the party is binding on all members including Alhaji Alpha Khan who is currently at the Bintumani Conference Center, Aberdeen in Freetown to witness the Bintumani 3 National Dialogue Forum on Democratic Consolidation for Peace and National Cohesion.

He described those in attendance as “recalcitrant” who will be dealt with accordingly. This statement from Deveaux has been viewed by many as a clear show that the APC is truly disappointed with Alpha Khanu and by all indications; this could not be unconnected with the decision to expel him at today’s proposed APC meeting.

Apart from APC and C4C political parties that didn’t attend, over 15 registered political parties including Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella’s NGC attended.

International dignitaries such as Mano River Union Deputy Secretary General, Mrs. Jacqueline Konan, UN Special Rep of the Secretary General for West Africa and the Sahel and Head of UNOWAS, UNDP Country Rep-Dr. Samuel Doe, Prof. Neil Cooper-Head of Department Kent University in USA and UN Women Rep Dr. Mary Okumu.

All Paramount Chiefs, Journalists and CSOs are all gracing the opening ceremony where President Julius Maada Bio is set to address Sierra Leoneans. The conference hall is filled beyond capacity.
