This decision is as a result of violent conduct of some Leone Stars supporters against the Liberia delegation training at the stadium a few months back during the World Cup qualifiers.

According to Alfred Tucker the Siaka Steven Stadium Deputy Manager, supporters will be disallowed from accessing the stadium during the match in respect of the FIFA directives.

FIFA’s sanctioning of the Sierra Leone Football Association is for violating Article 16 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code during the Sierra Leone – Liberia FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Leone Stars versus Lesotho in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers is scheduled to play on Wednesday at the Siaka Steven Stadium behind closed doors.

Alfred Tucker is the Deputy Manager at the Siaka Steven Stadium. He spoke to AYV on the measures the stadium management has put in place to avoid a security threat.

Saidu Jalloh is the Chief Security officer at the Siaka Steven Stadium. He told AYV how their work has been like since the facility has been closed to the general public.

According to Alfred Tucker the Siaka Steven Stadium has been closed since Sunday to the general public and football fans. It is expected to be opened on Sunday evening after the match.
