The Senior Secondary pupil of the Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG) was devastated by the dehumanizing treatment that her forefathers were subjected to during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

As Tour Guide, Francis Musa Momoh narrates the episodes of the inhuman slave trade, a feeling of sombre took over the Heritage Club of FSSG.

With funding from the US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP), the Sierra Leone Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and the Monuments and Relics Commission are implementing a project to restore Bunce Island.

The Education and Outreach component of that project compels them to share the dark history with pupils and the public.

Martha and her colleagues were taken on a guided tour of Bunce Island. They promised to share the knowledge with their peers while appealing to the Government to take steps to preserve the ruins. More schools will be taken to the historic edifice.
