His Excellency Chief Justice Babatunde Edwards, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to Ireland, formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Michael D. Higgins, President of the Republic of Ireland, at Áras an Uachtaráin in Dublin.

The credential ceremony marked the official beginning of Ambassador Edwards’ diplomatic mission in Ireland, symbolizing the deepening of bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Ireland. During the ceremony, both leaders expressed their shared commitment to strengthening ties in areas of mutual interest, including development cooperation, education, and cultural exchange.
Following the formal presentation, Ambassador Edwards participated in a courtesy discussion with President Higgins, reflecting on the longstanding friendship between the two nations and the prospects for continued collaboration.
The Embassy of Sierra Leone in Dublin extends its gratitude to the Government and people of Ireland for their warm hospitality and looks forward to a fruitful diplomatic engagement.
