The symposium was organized to enable participants from different countries in Africa provide meaningful contributions in mapping out viable programs for youths in the Continent against the backdrop of an exponential boom in population and  how technology can impact this population boom.

The youth minister noted that the 21st Century has ushered in a period of digitalization and cyber technology. This he said is an opportunity that African youth should optimize judiciously. Through the operational cyber trends, youths can strive for excellence through the acquisition of skills and knowledge by using information and telecommunications as a fast medium for learning and conducting research. Technology he said, has been brought to their doorsteps and that they must seize time by its forelock to positively use it in a bid to honour their obligations as future leaders or the mainstay of the Continent’s population in harnessing a demographic dividend.

The minister went on to say that the youths of the Continent should now be aware of population trends and drew a nexus between youth empowerment and the positive use of technology. He implored youths to use technology of whatever shape or form to a positive effect to impact not only the youthful population but the other ages in different spheres of life.

The minister was highly honoured and appreciated by his opposite numbers from other African countries as well as former Heads of State for his well- researched presentation and his quest to improve not only the lives of youths in his own country but in Africa as a whole.
