The general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), MA Baby, urged the adoption of a firm stance of solidarity with Cuba in the face of the siege and threat of military invasion by the United States.
In a communication for the Indian YouTube channel Left Views, Baby denounced the danger that threatens the world, and that affects Cuba, among other countries, most intensely, due to the flagrant acts of aggression of the military-industrial and media complex, led by US President Donald Trump.
In that regard, he recalled Trump’s threats to “take over Cuba after resolving his conflict with Iran” and Washington’s actions to justify an illegal military attack against the Caribbean nation, such as the unjust accusation against the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, for a legitimate act of defense of national sovereignty that occurred more than 30 years ago.
Baby urged New Delhi to act immediately in solidarity with Cuba, given that this nation is a friend of India and a brother of the Non-Aligned Movement.
We must all organise our firm solidarity with the people, the government and the Communist Party of Cuba, he emphasised.
The general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) stressed that the United States has no right to defy or violate international law.
Why is Donald Trump planning a project against Cuba?, questioned the Indian communist leader, who in his own response highlighted the courage and dignity of the Cuban people for not kneeling before US imperialism and trying to build a just and equitable society for all its citizens.
He stated that Cuba is a sovereign nation with a socialist system and that it is trying to develop an egalitarian society, despite the cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade and the continuous and reinforced aggressions of the United States against that people.
He further pointed out that Washington is unleashed with illegal actions around the world, such as the attack on January 3 in Caracas and the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, who are being subjected to a sham trial by US authorities.
He added that, subsequently and in collaboration with Israel, the United States waged war against Iran, in a unilateral offensive without any justification.
The political leader recalled Trump’s statements regarding Cuba, which he described as highly inflammatory and illegal under current international law, and considered them a fascist-style maneuver.
