The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone (USL), has officially launched its Academic Management and Timetable Mobile Application, marking a significant step towards the digital transformation of academic administration and student services.
The newly introduced platform is designed to provide students and staff with a centralized system that supports the entire academic journey. The application offers a range of features, including grade publication and calculation, class attendance monitoring, lecture notifications, examination schedules, and assignment submissions.
Speaking during the launch, university officials described the initiative as part of IPAM’s commitment to embracing technology and improving efficiency in academic management. The platform is expected to enhance communication between students, lecturers, and administrators while making essential academic information more accessible.
Students have been encouraged to adopt and actively use the application to benefit from its convenience and the improved learning experience it seeks to provide. The developers acknowledged that the implementation process will take time but expressed confidence that collaboration among students, faculty, and management will ensure the success of the initiative.
The launch event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara; the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sierra Leone, Prof. Aiah Lebbie; the Assistant to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Fourah Bay College; representatives of UBA Sierra Leone; members of faculty and staff; and students.
The introduction of the mobile application reflects ongoing efforts by IPAM and the University of Sierra Leone to modernize academic systems and leverage technology to improve teaching, learning, and institutional management.
University authorities expressed optimism that the platform will contribute significantly to creating a more efficient, accessible, and student-centered academic environment for the future.
