Kamarainba and Mohamed Bangura were jointly arraigned before Magistrate Samai on a fresh File # CS 90 detailing: Mohamed Bangura standing trial for Malicious Damage contrary to the malicious damage act Section 51 of 1861.

Wounding-contrary to Section 20 of 1861. Mansaray stood trial for-Unlawful possession of small arms without licence-to wit one Black Zap enforcer stun gun.

In the ongoing trial, counsel representing the state Umu Sumaray Esq. not wishing to proceed with the initial case files on CS83 and CS84 to which Kamarainba was charged with three counts of Unlawful possession possessing small arms and carrying offensive weapon he (Kamarainba) had initially pleaded not guilty to all three counts.

Same applied to Mohamed Bangura who was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, malicious damage and wounding.

After a long legal battle between both defence counsels and State counsel, the magistrate objected to the defence team for arguing the procedural changes in filing the case ( CS90) . He rules out their objections and called for the matter to proceed.

The Lead defence counsel Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai asked that he should be recorded by the magistrate on the matter, citing Section 23 Subsection 5 paragraph A. He furthered that it was an abuse to the entire process and a violation of the 1991 constitution.

After a heated debate (legal wise), the magistrate asked the defence lawyer not to provoke him, resulting action was for him (Magistrate Samai) remading both Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray and Mohamed Bangura to the correctional centre in Kenema City and adjourned the matter to 28th June 2017.

Meanwhile Kamarainaba was represented by Lawyer E.S Abduali, H.M Gevao Esq. and P.I Bangura Esq. and state prosecution was done by Umu Sumaray Esq.

However, since this is the holy month of Ramadan and Muslims around the world are anticipated to observe the ‘Eid al-Fitr’ on the coming weekend, it is obvious that Kamarainba and Bangura will be spending their holiday gaol.
