Kelvin said the initiative for the procession was mainly youths owned and not sponsored by any political party or parastatals born out of series of radio discussions and individual engagements.

The sponsor for the initiative in terms of logistics for the process Sidie Yayah Fofanah alias DJ SNOW said he felt proud to have given a helping hand to the youths to observe such procession that has been observed in Freetown and other parts of the country.

He said one way or the other each and every citizen of the country was affected by the mudslide and flooding because those who lost their lives were Sierra Leoneans.

Victoria Bernard a gender activist in the city, expressed gratitude to the multitude of women and girls who took to the street to show love and solidarity to their fellow compatriots.

She thanked the initiators and those who had wanted to join them but were either sick or unable to join, adding that such love showed should be continuous.

The procession was climaxed at the roundabout of one of the principal streets of kenema where Muslim and Christian prayers were offered.
