According to the Assistant Inspector General of Police-commanding the east region of Sierra Leone , Alfred Karrow Kamara disclosed that the alleged murderers  were arrested on diverse  dates, after stabbing the deceased, William Conteh to  death on the 1 of April 2017 , along Kamboi night club, and the Kenema Police Barracks axis.

 He said during their investigation, it was revealed that Ibrahim Conteh actually stabbed William Conteh thrice with a pair of scissors and carted away with his Techno Mobile Phone, which he allegedly sold to an unknown person at black Belgium ground,  a black market place in Kenema.

The Eastern Region Police boss further disclosed that one of the suspects attempted to commit suicide, whilst they were in police custody, stating that the other suspects , Prince Kamara was  alleged to have  involved in armed robbery ,  while his accomplice , Ibrahim Konneh was involved in  mobile theft.

 He went on to state that  Prince Kamara was earlier charged to court for malicious damage, but that he later  hibernated at a secluded place within the Kenema township.

AIG Alfred Karrow Kamara commended the Kenema community people especially the motor bike riders for aiding the police to arrest the three suspects and as they eventually charged the matter to court. The AIG encouraged community people to continue their good work in the aspect of promoting peace and security in the Eastern region of Sierra Leone.

 He assured the people of Kenema of his institution’s commitment to unearth and prosecute perpetrators committing offences.

In an interview with some residents of Kenema, revealed that the rate of killing among young people in that part of the country is on the increase, a situation that required immediate attention.  

Jonathan Kovoma, a commercial motorbike rider informed AYV that they are worried about the trending situation, as innocent residents of Kenema were being killed, over the last five months.

 He assured that commercial motorbike riders in Kenema would continue to give their fullest support and cooperation to the police.

 Salieu S. Jalloh, a businessman who trades in food stuff at night, complained that his business had been challenged  lately, owing to the fact that his customers were frightened to go out at night for fear of being attacked and killed  by the marauding criminals .

In the same vein, Alhassan Joyson Kallon, a senior youth in the Kenema Township uttered that their youthful activities especially at various night clubs had been considerably reduced, as a result of the persistent attacks by criminals.

He concluded that as  young people’s , they are always ready  and willing to give their support to the police in Kenema, in order to curb the increment of lawlessness in that part of the country.
