He maintained that his success as LUC for the two years he has spent in Tankoro is as a result of the support he is getting from the community people.

David Sheid Koroma also informed AYV news paper that the police are calling on other authorities to help them deliver security messages to the general public using different means. He noted that the Office of the National Security (ONS), Military, Civil Societies and other apparatus are doing a lot in helping the police to combat crime but however stressed that more needs to be done. He further stated that his Division always consults with authorities before taking any decision. LUC disclosed they always educate the community to alert them on any matter that relates to security threat. “We conduct patrol day and night to area prone to crimes” he revealed.

The LUC informed this medium that the click havoc that is envisage in other parts of the country has never occurred in Kono simply because the police in Kono is in good relationship with the community people and therefore gets intelligence on the issues and act on them immediately. “With the support of the community stakeholders we can nip the bud into” LUC stressed. He went on to say; any time crimes are reported, they quickly investigate them and charge the accused to court. He disclosed that assault is the frequently registered offence on their register amongst others. He ended by saying that the radio stations are playing great roles in promoting peace in Kono.
