Former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late National Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, describing him as a loyal party stalwart, dedicated public servant, and trusted ally whose contributions to both party and country will be long remembered.
In a condolence message issued following the death of the APC Chairman, Dr. Koroma expressed sadness over the loss, noting that Hon. Mansaray devoted many years of his life to public service and to the growth and development of the APC.
According to the former President, the late Mansaray rose through the ranks of the party, beginning from the APC Youth League and eventually serving as National Chairman, a position in which he demonstrated commitment, leadership, and unwavering loyalty.
Dr. Koroma recalled that Hon. Mansaray was among the earliest supporters who encouraged him to seek leadership within the APC and remained steadfast during some of the most challenging periods in the party’s history.
“He was not only amongst the first to identify and got me to lead, but he was also steadfast and loyal, particularly during the most critical and difficult moments of the struggle for the party leadership,” the former President stated.
He further noted that the late APC Chairman maintained the same level of dedication throughout his presidency, serving both the party and the nation with distinction in various capacities.
Describing the death of Hon. Mansaray as a significant loss, Dr. Koroma said his passing represents an irreparable loss to his family, the APC, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he positively impacted through his years of service.
The former President extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, APC members, supporters, and sympathizers, urging them to take comfort in the legacy of service, commitment, and leadership left behind by the late Chairman.
“As we bid farewell to Orminkay, as I fondly called him, let us remember a life lived with purpose, service, and devotion to others,” Dr. Koroma said.
He concluded by praying for Allah’s mercy upon the departed APC leader, asking that his shortcomings be forgiven, his good deeds accepted, and that he be granted Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray passed away on 15 June 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. His death has drawn tributes from political leaders, government officials, party supporters, and citizens across Sierra Leone, highlighting his contributions to the country’s democratic and political development.
