Bangura was referred to the Connaught Hospital by the Board on Monday, 24 September 2018, where he was accompanied by the Board’s Paralegal, Mathew Bilden. The Deputy Chief Medical Director at the University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Gibrilla Fadlu Deen and his team ensured his eyes were examined and then given drugs to use until his return in two weeks.

Osman spent nearly five months on remands until the Board secured his discharge on September 19 at the ongoing September 2018 Criminal Sessions of the High Court presided over by the Honorable Abdulai Charm, Chief Justice of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

It would be recalled, this is not the first time the Board has referred its clients to the Connaught Hospital and all have benefitted from the Free Healthcare. The beneficiaries included clients suffering from cold and pneumonia, malnutrition, malaria, typhoid, bloated stomach and hepatitis.  Also, one client Zachariah who got blinded at the Pademba Road Correctional Center had his sight restored at the hospital.
