The UDM Leader in his criticism of the three quintessential gentlemen alleged that they were going around the country talking politics. On the contrary, the hydra-headed politician in his usual praise-singing ‘vuvuzelaed’ Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio for commending President Ernest Bai Koroma for his handling of the Ebola fights. Mohamed Bangura also praised the former Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) presidential candidate for humbly accepting the controversial Supreme Court ruling against the elected Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana.

Be that as it may, Mohamed Bangura’s praise-singing of Maada Bio for commending the President for his handling of the Ebola fight and his endorsement of the highly contentious Supreme Court ruling against the elected Vice President comes as no surprise to the people of Sierra Leone because he had always been praise-singing and groveling to his pay masters. But what has actually baffled the critical minds and right-thinking Sierra Leoneans is the temerity of Maada Bio to graciously take to Mohamed Bangura’s praise-singing and kowtowing to President Ernest Bai Koroma. By so doing, Maada Bio has defied the stance of the SLPP on the removal of the former Vice President from office and the Supreme Court ruling against him. He did that for obvious reasons you and I already know.

Back to the criticism of John B. Sisay, Moseray Fadika and Alhaji Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella by the rambunctious UMD Leader, what Mohamed Bangura and Maada Bio are very ignorant of is the fact that the three enterprising Sierra Leoneans have given the highest support to the Government of Sierra Leone for the Ebola fight and the flood disaster apart from Mercury International. Both need to search about the level of cooperation and support the three gentlemen have given to the Government of Sierra Leone. John B. Sisay, for example, used his position as the CEO of SRL to influence the company to donate mouth-watering money towards the Ebola fight at the time Government was desperately in need of funds to contain the deadly epidemic in the country. His company has also recently donated to flood victims. Personally, John Sisay has done a lot to better the lives of thousands of young Sierra Leoneans. On Wednesday this week, the intelligent young man held a public lecture at Fourah Bay College (FBC).

Of course, the youths of Sierra Leone see the Shandong Vice President, Moseray Fadika aka Super as their godfather. Apart from being a socialite and man of culture, Moseray Fadika has contributed immensely to educational development in Sierra Leone by building schools and awarding scholarships to pupils and students.  Over the years, Moseray Fadika had supported hundreds of Sierra Leoneans to observe the Hajj in Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addition to his charity to various mosques in the entire country during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Moseray Fadika also influenced one of the highest donations for the Ebola fight through the African Minerals Limited (AML). And very recently, he took a 40ft. container stocked with assorted items to the National Stadium for the flood victims currently using the sports facility as temporary shelter until Government relocates them.

The name Alhaji Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella is synonymous with both national and international development and the record of his achievements in Sierra Leone and around the world is overwhelming. As Senior Prefect of Christ the King College (CKC) in Bo in 1977, he took part in the nationwide demonstration against the late President Siaka Probyn Stevens’ APC regime before the One Party Constitution was enacted a year later.

In 1992, Alhaji Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella worked very briefly with the National Provisional Ruling Council (NPRC) as Secretary of State Trade and Industry and helped promote trade policies. He worked for nineteen years for the United Nations before he resigned this year to come and serve his people. Some of the positions Alhaji Dr. Yumkella held at the UN are Under-Secretary General, UN Secretary General’s Representative on Sustainable Energy for All, and Director General of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

During the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), the former UN guru also influenced an ear-watering donation from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to the tune of US$500,000.00 (Five hundred thousand US Dollars). Besides, Alhaji Dr. Yumkella has assisted in so many projects across the country, such as the construction of the Bankasoka and Moyamba mini-hydro projects, the establishment of Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) and Sierra Leone Standard Bureau,  the Barefoot Women’s Solar Project, the Growth Centres in the three provincial headquarters of Makeni, Kenema and Bo, you name it.

Recently, Alhaji Dr. Yumkella held a public lectures for over two thousand students in Freetown. On his return from the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York and the G20 in Turkey, he visited four flood-affected communities in the Freetown municipality and sympathized with them for the natural disaster they suffered. The former International Civil Servant also donated three hundred and fifty bags of rice to those communities and admonished them to listen to the advice of Government and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) in terms of climate change.

By and large, what John Sisay, Moseray Fadika and Alhaji Yumkella have done for their country and people is something that Mohamed Bangura and Maada Bio can never achieve until the cows come home. For instance, Maada Bio’s achievement does not go beyond his transient tenure as junta Head of State and Chairman of the NPRC. Even so, he had to overthrow Captain Valentine Strasser in a palace coup on trumped-up excuses that failed to convince most Sierra Leoneans who immediately called for elections before peace.

As for Mohamed Bangura, he had long since lost the moral ground to even start questioning the actions of people whose lace he is unfit to untie. He has the notoriety for praising-singing the powers-that-be in order to be in their good books. The hydra-headed politician can even mortgage UDM against the wishes of his supporters as long as he continues receiving favours from those he praise-sings.

It is about time both Mohamed Bangura and Maada Bio kept quiet because they are not only jealous of the three distinguished personalities, but they have also betrayed the confidence of Sierra Leoneans who had thought they would put their integrity and the interest of the country above material things. I believe the people of this country should start resisting such unpatriotic politicians who are only interested in themselves because of selfishness and greed. They are, indeed, incapable of leading this country as politicians.

But whether they believe it or not, the stone that Mohamed Bangura and Maada Bio are rejecting shall be the head corner stone. Better put, let them have in mind that in the next presidential election, one of those three quintessential gentlemen Mohamed Bangura is criticizing will emerge as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
