The Judicial and Legal Training Institute (JLTI), with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Justice Sector Coordination Office (JSCO), has officially commenced a specialised training for Magistrates on the new Criminal Procedure Act of 2024, which came into practice on 16th September, “025.
The training was formally opened by the Honourable Chief Justice Komba Kamanda.
In his keynote remarks, the Chief Justice emphasised the importance of continuous capacity building for judicial officers, noting that “training is critical and forms part of my administration’s commitment to strengthening the competence and professionalism of the Bench.”
He reiterated that ongoing training ensures that Magistrates are well-equipped to apply the new legal provisions fairly and effectively.
