A significant blow has been dealt to drug traffickers in the Freetown West Region following an intelligence-led police operation that resulted in the seizure of three barrels and three cartons containing dried leaves suspected to be Kush.

The breakthrough operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Regional Commander, AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, whose team swiftly moved on actionable intelligence across multiple locations.

Two of the barrels were recovered from a Serena vehicle with registration ALA-080, driven by Yussif Sesay. Another barrel was intercepted from a Toyota taxi (API-156) at AdonkiaCemetery in Goderich. Additionally, three cartons of suspected Kush were discovered at a nearby residence believed to be owned by a woman identified as Patricia, who is currently on the run.

During preliminary investigations, driver Yussif Sesayclaimed he had been contracted by one Abdul Rahman Sesayto transport the barrels. Both men have since been taken into custody. Meanwhile, the taxi driver linked to the Toyota vehicle fled the scene, and efforts to locate and arrest him are ongoing.

All seized exhibits have been secured and are awaiting forensic laboratory analysis.

The operation marks a major disruption to drug trafficking activities in the region and reinforces the commitment of AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma to intensifying the fight against illegal drugs in Freetown West.
