Giving his feedback on the issue on his Facebook page wall, Minister Leema wrote: “The action orchestrated against the Honorable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone was one that was calculated to expose the Honorable Vice President to hate and public ridicule and was wickedly machinated to illegally transfer the popular mandate of the people of Sierra Leone to Mr. Samura Kamara”.

He said Mr. Kamara is on records to have threatened that he will make this country ungovernable should he lose the elections, adding that Samura translated his threats into real action on that ugly Friday as he sought to subvert legitimacy against the state.

Leema went on to say: “It is worthy of note that as at the time the APC former flagbearer put up such an outrageous and subversive act, the Honorable Vice President was and is still the Acting President of the Republic of Sierra Leone”.

This lawlessness, the minister concluded, needs to be investigated and appropriate corrective actions taken against perpetrators, as according to him, it is time for the authorities to read the riots act.

However, it can be recalled that few days after the ugly incident, the country’s Council of Imams visited the vice president and apologised to him for the unwelcomed performance of the Muslims at the Mosque, while further condemning the act and promised to address it amicably.
