Miss Sierra Leone Limited has officially launched the ‘Search for Miss Sierra Leone 2023’ at the AYV Multipurpose Complex in Freetown, where eminent personalities and people from all walks of life were in attendance.

Chairman of the Board, Miss Sierra Leone Limited, Dr. Adonis Abboud said:

“Miss Sierra Leone Limited is open to receiving more supports and sponsors so as to make this year’s a remarkable and history making event. Miss Sierra Leone Limited encourages interested contestants to purchase the forms and apply early to avoid disappointment”.

He welcomed the attendees including the new members of Miss Sierra Leone Board, while informing that this year, both the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire, Amb. Anthony Navo Jr. and the Company’s Chief Operating Officer, Messeh Leone are fully on board to give Sierra Leone and its people a credible, free and fair Miss Sierra Leone pageantry.

The forms are now available at all DSTV offices across Sierra Leone for NLe250 and deadline for submission of completed forms is expected to be announced in due course.

At the launch, Managing Director of Africell, Shadi Gerjawi said:

“Over the years he has been in support of what Sierra Leoneans has been doing in trying to spotlight and showcasing talents to the world. As a company we will be happy to be a part of this year’s Miss Sierra Leone”.

The Miss Sierra Leone event is expected to involve contestants from each of the districts, with a view to select a district representative, culminating in the national Miss Sierra Leone pageant.

It provides an opportunity for young Sierra Leonean women to showcase their beauty, intelligence, talent and culture on a national stage.

This year’s Theme is: ‘A Healthy Environment in a World of Beauty, Peace & Integrity’, meaning a safe environment that stands in the puddle of peace and wholeness.

The Miss Sierra Leone Limited is a not-for-profit company with the primary objective of organising national competitions to select a beauty queen for the country.

The organisation has been credited for it work, in showcasing the strength, beauty, and intelligence of women in Sierra Leone, including for supporting the winner in her charitable work and being able to serve a positive role model for young women in the country, inspiring them to become responsible and respectable citizens.

Miss Sierra Leone Limited was formed in 2001 and had its first pageant the same year, after a twelve-year hiatus, the company had a rebirth and organised more and improved pageants in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019, all these events were acknowledged as the best entertainment events of the years in which they were hosted.

The pageants held over these years crowned Miss Margeret Murray, Miss Aminata Bangura, Miss Sarah Laura Tucker and Miss Enid Jones Boston (present) as Miss Sierra Leone respectively.

Miss Sierra Leone 2019 Enid Jones Boston represented Sierra Leone at the Miss World Beauty pageant in the United Kingdom on 14th December 2019. She is the third crowned Miss Sierra Leone to compete on the Miss World competition and she won a medal for courage and her performance in a team with other contestants.

The search for Miss Sierra Leone 2023 is expected to be highly competitive, with many talented and intelligent young women vying for the crown. The pageant is open to all Sierra Leonean women aged between 18 and 26, who are unmarried, have no children, and are of good moral character. Contestants will be judged on various criteria, including their poise, confidence, intelligence, and talent.

The pageant also provides an opportunity for contestants to engage in philanthropic activities, with the winner becoming an ambassador for various charitable organizations and causes. Miss Sierra Leone also represents the country at various international events, promoting Sierra Leonean culture and raising awareness about issues affecting the country.

The launch of the search for Miss Sierra Leone 2023 has generated a lot of excitement among Sierra Leoneans, with many eagerly anticipating the pageant and supporting their favorite contestants. The pageant provides an opportunity for Sierra Leoneans to come together and celebrate the beauty and diversity of their country.
