In its traditional show piece of events, the Foundation of Islamic Information SL LTD (FOISIL), concludes the 10th National Quranic Memorization Competition (NQMC).

The occasion featured both male and female participants competing in two separates categories (male and female categories). Abdulai Gibril Sow, a participant from the Eastern region and Mariam Bashir Jalloh, a participant from the Western Area took the winning positions for the male and female categories respectively.

Each of these two winners took home twenty thousand Leones. In addition to the prizes obtained, a technology entity, One Deen Educational Institute, has provided them free scholarship to pursue courses at the tech institution.

Furthermore, the competition is graced by one of the world’s prominent scholar, Sheikh Okasha Kameny. Okasha has memorized the Quran, Sahih Bukhari and Muslim, and dozens of classical Islamic books, including Alfiya of Imaam Malik. He is an authority in the Sciences of the Quran, Arabic and Islamic history.

At the 10th NQMC, Sheikh Okasha thrilled the crowd with a brief recitation of the verses of the holy Quran, and then admonished the attendees on the importance of the Quran and the importance of being one such person that memorizes it.

He annotated by expressing admiration in the Sierra Leone populace and the Foundation of Islamic Information (SL) LTD (FOISIL), for this great endeavour of facilitating the sustained staging of the National Quranic Memorization Competitions
