The National Grand Coalition (NGC) has concluded an engagement with Mr. Edmond Sylvester Alpha, who has been proposed by President Julius Maada Bio for appointment as Chief Electoral Commissioner of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (EC-SL).
The consultation follows a formal correspondence from the President seeking the views of the NGC regarding his intention to appoint Mr. Alpha to the country’s top electoral position.
In response, the leadership of the Party, led by the National Chairman and Leader together with the National Secretary General, invited Mr. Alpha to the party’s headquarters for an interview session.
During the engagement, which lasted over an hour, Mr. Alpha responded to a wide range of questions and provided clarifications and documentation in support of his suitability for the role.
