A senior member of the All People’s Congress(APC), Alfred Minkailu Payamba Koroma, has declared that the Party’s victory in the 2028 general elections is inevitable.
Koroma asserted that “no son of Adam” can prevent the APC from winning, expressing strong confidence in the Party’s chances despite any perceived challenges. He further stated that even if Edmond Sylvester Alpha serves as National Returning Officer of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone, the APC would still emerge victorious, adding that Alpha would ultimately be the one to announce the party’s win.
Meanwhile, in a significant political development, Members of Parliament from the APC have returnedto the House after more than six weeks of boycott, resuming their legislative responsibilities.
Their return was welcomed by the Speaker of Parliament, Segepoh Solomon Thomas, who commended the opposition lawmakers for rejoining national debates and contributing to the country’s democratic process.
Leader of the Opposition, Abdul Kargbo, also praised the Speaker’s leadership in facilitating the MPs’ return, describing it as a crucial step toward restoring full parliamentary engagement.
He further called for the Agreement for National Unity to be formally laid before Parliament and urged the establishment of an oversight committee to monitor the activities of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone.
The resumption of APC lawmakers is expected to revitalise parliamentary proceedings and foster broader political cooperation as the country continues to address key national issues.
The return of APC lawmakers is expected to restore full parliamentary engagement and could signal a shift in the country’s political atmosphere as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2028 elections.
