National Publicity Secretary of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Moses Mambu, has stated that the party will adopt a fully democratic process in selecting its next presidential flagbearer ahead of the 2028 elections.
Referencing remarks by President Julius Maada Bio during the party’s anniversary celebrations, Mambustressed that the choice of candidate will be determined by party delegates through voting, rather than personal preference or sentiment.
He noted that all qualified delegates, including the President, will participate in the process, ensuring transparency and inclusivity in the selection.
Mambu added that the party is focused on choosing a candidate who can promote unity, peace, and stability, while maintaining the confidence of the people.
He expressed optimism that the SLPP will secure another electoral victory in 2028, potentially extending its time in office and strengthening its political legacy in Sierra Leone.
