The newly appointed Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Hon. Abdulai Masiyambay Bangurah, has received an overwhelming endorsement from both the main opposition and Ruling Party Members of Parliament, at the Committee Room One, Tower Hill in Freetown.

His Lordship designate, appeared before members of the Committee on Appointments and Public Service, marking the Fourteenth sitting of the Committee, of the first session of the sixth Parliament of the second Republic of Sierra Leone.

The former Chairman of the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC), was appointed by His Excellency President Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio, on the 26th January, 2024 pursuant to Section 135 (2) of 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone.

He was called to the Utter Bar of Sierra Leone in October 1996 and had a brief sojourn in the law Officers Department. He later moved to Kenema in 1997 and established private practice there, under the titulage of S.U. Navo Jr, of blessed memories.

In April 2018, he was appointed Minister of Justice, by His Excellency Retired Brigadier Dr Julius Maada Bio. He was later moved to the PPRC as Chairman, on the 6th of June 2019, where he has been since, till his elevation to the Supreme Court.

Members of the opposition All Peoples Congress Party (APC) in the Committee, commended him, for inter alia helping to bring them together, prior to their convention in Makeni City. They lauded his sense of Justice, fairness and neutrality in the execution of his duties at the PPRC.

They entreated him to exhibit those virtues in the Supreme Court.
