Ahead of the 2021 International Women’s Day on Monday March 8, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Dr. Patricia N. Laverley yesterday Thursday 4th March, joined Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Julia Gillard to discuss Lessons on “Women and Leadership.”

The Deputy Minister joined other eminent women including Theresa May, former Prime Minister (UK), Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf (Liberia), Joyce Banda (Malawi) and Christine Lagarde (IMF/ECB) in a discussion on women and leadership in politics and finance.

This powerful global platform serves as a vehicle for sustained dialogue on how women leaders surmount gender bias in executing their leadership roles in politics and finance.

The dialog concluded with the launch of a new book outlining the practical experiences of these remarkable women. The live stream webinar was organised under the auspices of the President of Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.
