Pee Cee Holding Ltd. commemorated International Women’s Day 2026 with a special event aimed at celebrating and empowering women within the company. The programme, held on 9 May 2026 at Jolaks Manufacturing Company, brought together staff members, invited guests, and women from various departments under the theme “Give to Gain.”
The event, which commenced at 12:30 PM at the Wellington Industrial Estate in Freetown, highlighted the importance of generosity, empowerment, and mutual support among women in the workplace and the wider community.
Proceedings began with the arrival of guests and staff members, followed by opening prayers led by representatives of both the Christian and Muslim faiths, reflecting the company’s commitment to unity, respect, and inclusiveness.
In her welcome address, Tami Y. Bangura, Human Resource Assistant at Pee Cee Holding Ltd., expressed appreciation to the company’s management for recognising the contributions of women within the organisation. She noted that the programme was designed not only to celebrate women but also to encourage a culture of support, appreciation, and empowerment.
Also speaking at the event, Nadia Kamara, Environmental and Social Manager, emphasised the need to create opportunities for women in the workplace. She encouraged women to pursue excellence and leadership, noting that institutions thrive when women are given equal opportunities to contribute and succeed.
An additional message of encouragement was delivered by Maysel During, popularly known as “Padi,” who spoke about the importance of solidarity and collective growth among women. She said the theme “Give to Gain” reflects the belief that when women uplift one another, it leads to shared success both professionally and socially.
The company’s Human Resource Director, Madam Ekta, also addressed the gathering, commending the dedication and hard work of female staff members. She reaffirmed management’s commitment to promoting gender equality, professional growth, and a supportive working environment where women can realise their full potential.
As part of the celebration, gifts and food items were distributed to all women present in appreciation of their valuable contributions to the organisation.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Kadiatu Kamaraexpressed gratitude to the management of Pee Cee Holding Ltd., the organisers, and participants for making the event a success. She described the initiative as a meaningful step toward recognising the critical role women play in both the workplace and society.
