The International Advisory Board of African Leadership Magazine a Publication of African Leadership, U.K Limited have invited the Director General of the Petroleum Directorate Sierra Leone Raymond Kargbo to the forth coming African Leadership Oil and Gas Development Summit at the prestigious Sandton Sun Hotel Johannesburg -South Africa on 26th August 2018 to speak on the Theme ” Increasing Efficiency and stimulating New Investment in E&P Assets”.

The African Leadership Oil and Gas Development Summit is conceived to bring together industry players from across the continent which include International Oil Companies, National Oil Companies Oil and Gas Service Companies, Independent Oil Companies Oil and Gas Financiers Regulators and Industry commentators amongst other stakeholders to discuss trends innovations and strategies towards maintaining a lead in the volatile Oil and Gas Sector.

During this event, Kargbo will be inducted into the African Leadership Hall of Fame -a Global Network of African Leaders, Institutions, Mentors, Philanthropists, Businessmen, Major Think Tanks on World African Relations and stakeholders contributing increasingly and uniquely distinguishing themselves in various aspects of Human endeavors and the African life.

It could be recalled that the Government of Sierra Leone recently announced to extend the closing date of the Country’s Fourth Licensing Rounds to September 27th 2018 supported by the UK Based Natural Resource Exploration Expert Getech Group through its wholly owned Subsidiary ERCL. 

In Line with Africa’s growing momentum to explore more Oil and Gas Potential throughout  the continent Raymond Kargbo Director general, Petroleum Directorate pre-announced a Fourth Licensing Round for Off Shore Blocks in October 2017 that was formally opened on the 15th January 2018 and Launched on the 25th January 2018 in at the Geological Society in London.

In the initial announcement the bids were rescheduled to be accepted between 15 January 2018 and 28th June 2018.

The Round Offers Five Contract areas featuring a new Block system including the areas of underdeveloped Oil and Gas discoveries from previous drilling campaigns, shallow water and deep Ultra Water.

The Offshore waters of Sierra Leone contain proven petroleum systems the understanding of which is supported by an inventory of extremely high quality Geological and Geo physical Data with much of this data being made available for the first time. The Country’s Fourth Licensing Round has generated significant levels of interest from the International Oil and Gas Industry.

The Director General Petroleum Director Sierra Leone will on November this year, immediately after the August Summit in the UK will serve as Guest Speaker at the 2018 African Oil Week in Cape Town South Africa invited by the ITE Group.

The AOW is a trusted and unique platform that will present bankable projects, new acreage and concessions cutting edge proprietary information policy and fiscal insights from.

The November Summit in Cape Town will also be graced by His Excellency Olusengu Obansanju Former President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Retired Honorable Mark Simmonds Former Minister for Africa UK and Carlos Lopes Former Executive Secretary Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
