Consequent upon the above, forty pieces of DRIVERS WAY GAME was presented to the Correctional Services Center for the utilization of their respective inmates.  This was borne as a result of the AIG’s invention to help people to learn the highway codes, road signs and roads demarcation in a bid to combat the numerous vices on the roads and ensuring road safety generally. The developed game will also help inmates to learn and understand how to use the road properly as pedestrians. For drivers, it will help them enormously to take care of their vehicles and ensuring their road worthiness; considering the fact that the Correctional Service Center had been recently transformed from Prisons Services to Correctional Services, it is expected that the lives of the inmates should be transformed to becoming useful citizens after their incarceration.

It is also part of their mandate to help give skills to inmates during their recreational period, in addition to having fun, and reduce their stress, “some people” he mentioned, “are ignorant of the road signs which led them to involve into accidents”. Thus, that prompted the significance of the donation.

Prior to the donation of the machines, a representative of the Sierra Leone Insurance Commission,(SLICOM) Sesay in his brief statement on behalf of his boss, Augusta Stanley-Director of SLICOM, said that as part of their cooperate social responsibility, the need to assist in such direction was paramount. He appreciated the hard work and expertise of AIG Lengor and emphasized that this would help to minimize the rate of accidents,” a healthy nation is a wealthy nation “he said.

Receiving the donation from AIG Lengor, was the Director of the Correctional Services, SANFA BILLO KAMARA   expressed thanks and appreciation to his colleague and promised to make judicious use of the machines. He informed Lengor that the machine is not only useful for the inmates but also for his personnel who would take advantage to learn and share their knowledge to others thereby serving as catalyst/trainers.

He remarked that the donation was timely and very important; he commended AIG Lengor for his initiative and leadership acumen, and by extension, thanked the Inspector General of Police Francis Alieu Munu and members of the Executive Management Board. Present at that auspicious occasion were the Deputy Director General of the Correctional Services Joe Lamboi, Director of Human Resource, Dennis Harman, and Ransford Williams, Director of Support Services among the ranks and files. Accompanying AIG Lengor were the SLP Media team and Sgt. Abdul Rahman Jalloh, Head of Audio Visual team SLP.    The Media Unit applauded AIG Morrie Lengor for such a marvelous initiative.
