Speaking to AYV as eyewitness, Member of Parliament Hon. Mohamed Bangura said the people were peacefully behind the restricted area when police slapped one of the people which led to the riot.

He said the next thing he saw was some police personnel manhandling people which led to one person collapsing and hospitalised.

The MP went on to say the continuation of such an incident is not good for the democracy of the country. He said the police should be seen protecting lives and properties and not to violate people’s rights and freedom.
