Sierra Leoneans across the globe can attest that the Mohamed Bangura brand is in a league of its own. Any attempt to taint that image which I have spent years to build for my legacy and my family will be treated as a direct personal attack to taint me and my entire family.

It has become impossible to ignore the recent media publications that outlined the negative utterances by the leader and Chairman of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray against my personality in a recent news conference held in his party’s head office at Rawdon Street in Freetown. At that news conference my name was continuously dragged in the mud by Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray all in the name of scoring political goals for personal gains.

Calling me names that in no way reflect my personality clearly demonstrates the intent of the ADP leader was not just malicious but a premeditated attempt to damage my reputation in the eyes of Sierra Leoneans who view me as a genuine patriot with genuine concern about pressing issues of national concern. I pride myself in championing issues of national concern in the interest of the common Sierra Leonean whose voices are sometimes lost in the arena of political authority.

I will not allow myself to stoop as low as to attack the personality of Kamarainba. It will be uncharacteristic of me, unfair to him as a human being and to his family as innocent by-standers- I wish I would have been shown the same courtesy. I view his attack on my personality as a national threat because it somehow endorses the false notion we live in a society where anyone can attack a man’s most precious asset, his reputation, and suffer no consequences. My fellow Sierra Leoneans I have been the voice of the masses working tirelessly across the globe to ensure that our needs are met and our demands are not ignored; so it is rather unfortunate that I have now become the target for negative innuendos. I have been the only political head under my party United Democratic Movement ( UDM) to stand firm demanding social justice for the people from the government of Sierra Leone. I am among the few voices that spoke up for the government’s speedy intervention in the transport sector to alleviate the strain of citizens as they ventured to get from point a to point b. I saw the struggle of my people queuing everyday come rain or shine to board vehicles and I empathized with them. I went viral advocating to every corridor to intercede and salvage the situation. Just when the government has heard my cry on-behalf of the people of Sierra Leone and procured 100 buses, politicians like Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray use this time which should be celebratory as an opportunity to gain political scores by going around media outlets name calling like school girls caught in a dispute instead of shining glory on the true accomplishment and hard work my efforts have produced in the interest of championing the cause of the ordinary Sierra Leoneans.

Like I stated previously, I cannot take the road of my attackers I must take the road less traveled and turn the other cheek and allow posterity to distinguish between the two of men and to determine who really is a political figure.
