She also explained that in our clinic “we have doctors, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and registered nurses who have expertise in the areas of family planning, deliveries for pregnant women and other ailments.
The clinic she said even has an on-site lab, where clients can get their lab work done, such as blood, stool work or other tests.
She added that the clinic also specializes in providing integrated health care for youth and adults with serious behavioral health challenges on sexually transmitted infections.
Shefurther explained thatthe clinic has a growing youth services departmentthrough a variety of approaches and strategies in partnership with youth and families.
Mariatu Kamara one of the patients visiting the clinic said she relies on the clinic for the treatment of her family as their drugs are affordable and the nurses are caring to patients.
She added that the clinic also work in partnership with the rainbow center to assist victims of sexual and gender base violence in the areas of referral for rape cases in confidentiality.
The Service Delivery Manager Hannah Saccohof the clinic also offers post abortion care to victims despite the clinic is not undertaking abortions.
According to Behavior Change Information Education and Communication Manager,Adolphus E. T. Beckley, the organization’s role is to complement efforts of the government and other agencies.
He said PPASL is providing appropriate and quality family planning, sexual and reproductive health information, education and services to selected groups in order to satisfy the increase in demand envisaged for family planning knowledge and practice.
He added that Sexuality Reproductive Health and Rights programs (SRHR) offers family planning services, safe motherhood services, adolescent and youth friendly sexual reproductive health services, STI prevention and management and HIV counseling and testing.
Adolphus E. T. Beckley said “our new strategic program is to improve access to comprehensive sexual education in schools so as to improve knowledge amongst young people through multimedia approach, clinical services and capacity building of volunteers.”
The organization is currently participating in the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce International Trade Fair and Exhibition at the Siaka Steven Stadium in Freetown to raise awareness on Sexuality Reproductive Health and Rights programs.
