President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has assured the All People’s Congress (APC) and the family of the late APC National Chairman, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, of the Government of Sierra Leone’s full support in ensuring a dignified funeral and burial.
The assurance was given during a solemn meeting between the President, members of the APC leadership, and the bereaved family following the death of the veteran politician.
During the engagement, President Bio expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Mansaray and extended condolences to his family, the APC, and all those mourning his loss. He also offered prayers for the repose of the late Chairman’s soul and for strength and comfort for the family during this difficult period.
In a statement shared on his X account, President Bio said: “This morning, I held a solemn meeting with the leadership of the All People’s Congress and the family of the late National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji MinkailuMansaray. I expressed my deep sorrow at his passing and assured the family and APC leadership of my government’s full support for a dignified funeral. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.”
The President’s gesture has been widely viewed as a demonstration of statesmanship and national unity, transcending political affiliations in a moment of collective mourning.
Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray was a prominent figure in Sierra Leone’s political landscape, serving in various senior government and party positions over the years. He was widely respected within the APC and across the country for his contributions to democratic governance and public service.

Meanwhile, preparations continue for the arrival of his remains from Dakar, Senegal, as family members, APC officials, and government representatives coordinate arrangements for his funeral and final interment.
