President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio will engage directly with citizens in Makeni today as he participates in the 2026 Presidential Town Hall, a public engagement forum aimed at strengthening dialogue between the government and the people.
Organised by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education under the theme “Year of Action,” the event is expected to attract nationwide attention as the president responds to questions from citizens on key national issues.
Minister of Information and Civic Education of Sierra Leone, Chernor Bah, said discussions are expected to focus on the state of the economy, gender empowerment, the Government’s Big Five development agenda, and Sierra Leone’s expanding role within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and on the global stage.
He said the town hall forms part of the Government’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and participatory governance by providing citizens with an opportunity to engage directly with the Head of State on issues affecting their communities.
Observers say the forum will serve as an important platform for the administration to outline progress on its policy priorities while listening to public concerns and responding to questions from residents of Makeni and other participants.
The Presidential Town Hall has become a key civic engagement initiative, designed to foster constructive dialogue between the Government and citizens as part of efforts to strengthen democratic governance and public accountability in Sierra Leone.
