The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has announced a new increment in the charges for water supply. 

With the new tariff structures, one cubic meter which is equivalent to one thousand litres or 44 batas of water now stands at: Stand pipes – nine thousand leones, residential house – fifteen thousand leones, non-metered residential house – fifty thousand leones flat charge, institutions (schools and hospitals) – fifteen thousand leones, all other institutions – twenty thousand leones and water packaging companies is thirty-seven thousand leones respectively. 

The increment according to the Company is in bid to serve its customers effectively, efficiently and to be self- supporting, through the approval of the new tariff structures by the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC).
