“The problem now we are facing in the village today is many people don’t have place to dump their rubbish so they ended up throwing them into the streams and the road side thereby blocking the streams and making the road unsightly. If we can get these bins around the village then it will serve us well and prevent all the wrongs going on in the village.”

She also averred that the village needs public toilet especially at the pack to avert the area from being a no go area as she said most of the people around the pack when nature calls, will just go into the stream and defecate. This Head Woman said is becoming unbearable and unacceptable, and that is why she needs urgent help to solve these problems.

Mrs. Metzger also told this medium that there is another problem as the cemetery in the village is now small and they have identified a piece of land near the Mudslide that would be used as a cemetery. This she said they have almost completed the all the negotiation and very soon the cemetery will start operations.

“Another problem we have in the village cemetery is that somebody who purchased a piece of land close to the cemetery wants to take advantage by taking the second road that leads to the missionary graves saying that the road is part of the piece of land she bought. The lady who sold the land has said that she never sold the road and made it very clear to the buyer that the land is boundary with the road.”

The Head Woman averred that a team of elders have gone to the Minister of Lands to complain as he has said he will make sure that nobody blocks a road as he will meet with the owner and the villagers to solve the problem on Monday coming.

Madam Metzger called on all sections in the village to representatives that will represent them as she wants to make sure that continued dialogue on the development of the village. She said she wants peace to reign in the village and does not want politics to divide them.

“I also want to work with the Councilor as both of us can change the face of the village. We are women and we will relate well and work together at all times. I am hoping that as we have started working politics will not divide us but will unite us to make Regent a great village.”

She said even she has negotiated with China Civil Engineering Construction (CCECC) for them to help dredge the streams so that there will be no flood this rainy season. She said she is hoping that people will cooperate with her to make the village good.
