The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) today discharged thirty-seven officers from the ranks of Lieutenant to Major on alleged Subversion, Absence without Leave (AWOL) and Misconduct amongst other crimes.

Six officers from the ranks of Second Lieutenant to Major were Voluntary Discharged, eight officers from the ranks of Second Lieutenant to Lieutenant Colonel Compulsorily Discharge on grounds of Absent without Leave (AWOL), eighteen officers from the ranks of Lieutenant to Major Compulsorily Discharge on grounds of Subversion and five officers from the ranks of Lieutenant to Colonel Compulsorily Discharge on grounds of Misconduct.

The decision according to the Director of Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Issa Bangura, was made pursuant to Section 169 (1I) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone Act No. 6 of 1991, including other Instruments on Administration and Discipline in Sections 26 and 27 a and b of the Army Orders Act No. 1 of 1965 of RSLAF.
