The Sierra Leone–Cuba Friendship Association (SALCUBA) has reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the people of Cuba, expressing gratitude for the long-standing relationship between the two countries and pledging to continue promoting cooperation and mutual respect.
In a statement issued by the Association, SALCUBA said it stands firmly with the Cuban people during what it described as challenging times, while acknowledging Cuba’s longstanding contributions to Sierra Leone in education, healthcare, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.
The Association, which comprises Cuban-trained professionals, students, parents, friends of Cuba, and supporters of Sierra Leone–Cuba relations, said it remains deeply appreciative of the enduring bonds of brotherhood that have united the two nations over the years.
“SALCUBA expresses its heartfelt solidarity and enduring friendship with the people of Cuba during these challenging times,” the statement noted.
The Association also expressed hope for continued peace, resilience, and prosperity for the Cuban people, while supporting constructive international engagement and humanitarian cooperation aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of citizens across the Caribbean nation.
According to SALCUBA, friendship among nations, respect for human dignity, and solidarity during periods of difficulty remain essential principles for promoting peace, development, and international understanding.
The Association further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the historic partnership between Sierra Leone and Cuba through continued collaboration in education, health, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
“SALCUBA remains committed to promoting the values of unity, service, mutual respect, and international cooperation that have long defined the relationship between Sierra Leone and Cuba,” the statement added.
Concluding its message, the Association extended its appreciation and best wishes to the people of Cuba, expressing hope for a future marked by peace, progress, and shared prosperity.
