“I went to him and asked one of my brothers who usually took his food to him to take him to hospital but he refused insisting that I should take him to the hospital and so together with a few other relatives and friends we took him to the Satellite Hospital at King Harman Road.

On arrival he was examined and admitted. Stool tests were done and enema was administered to enable him toilet freely and he responded by only a little but he was later unable to go to the toilet which made us worry. He was given water so that he would urinate, but instead, he started vomiting and when we started to worry, we were referred to the Connaught Hospital.

“I explained the situation to my father and he agreed. The paperwork was completed and we left for Connaught Hospital. But as we approached Choithram Supermarket, all of a sudden, he started telling us that he was not going anywhere again. Try as best as we could to convince him; including the driver of the vehicle who had even slept with him the day before, for us to get to the hospital, he was adamant. Instead, he grabbed hold of the steering wheel and demanded that he be driven back to his residence which we did,” Sia Tarawally explained to AYV.

According to Sia when they arrived at his home, Salone Trump drove them away telling it was enough and they should leave him alone. He blessed us and asked us to leave. She added that she did not leave at once but hung around and later together with her husband they pretended to leave but came back later to see how he was faring. According to Sia when she and her husband arrived again, they were reprimanded by Salone Trump saying they should leave him alone because he is in the hands of God and they should have no fear; and that if God said he was going to die he would die but if God said he would live then he would surely live.

She added that try as she could to convince her father for her to stay awhile, he was adamant and so they waited for a while and later left for their own home.

She continued to say that sadly however on the following morning (Monday 30th April, 2018) when she arrived together with other persons to check on her father they met some people already there who informed her that her father had passed away.

According to Salone Trump’s smaller brother Idrissa Tarawally, his elder brother lived alone in his room at Wilberforce Street in Freetown, Another businessman lived in another room near to his brother’s, he said, adding that their elder brother had never allowed anyone of them to live with him. He said they would sorely miss their brother not only for his political escapades and adventures and his desire to mix at all levels, but they would also miss him for his care, love, attention and dedication to his children and relatives.

Gibrilla Turay the acting chairman PDP made similar sentiments and prayed that the Creator grant him eternal rest, citing that the late Osman Tarawally aka Salone Donald Trump was a real driving force in the PDP and that most PDP members looked up to him for guidance, adding that the late Salone Trump was a likeable character who made friends everywhere he went and that the PDP as a whole would miss him greatly.
