Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation has conducted the first ever Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery at the Connaught hospital in Freetown.

It is communicated that patients who require lungs/chest surgery will no longer be cut wide open rather they will get smaller cuts to the chest and are been maintained greatly to have a prolong life as well as safe process, this may also promote faster recovery,  less painful implications and fewer complications.

This came at a time when its needed most by Sierra Leoneans as the MOHS intensifies their activities to making sure that the sector gets a better and safe service delivery at all times.

The directorate of policy planning and information has also rolled out the validation to the roadmap of a national digital health in the country.
