The 2015 meeting, which was FOCAC’s 6th session, was the first attended by President Xi Jinping since he assumed office in 2013.
It was at the said meeting that China increased its financing commitment and development priorities in Africa to 60 billion USD.
FOCAC, since its inception in 2000, continues to serve as a strategic development cooperation platform between China and Africa, being a principal framework for the conduct of economic, technical and cultural cooperation in that respect
Minister Kargbo arrived together with Saidu Conton-Sesay, Chief of Staff, Office of the President, Obai Taylor-Kamara, Director of Economic and Technical Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Christopher Foster, President, Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce and Alpha Kapri Bangura, Director, Public Investment Management, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
