Sierra Leone gets new Bank Governor

In a recent development, Dr. Ibrahim Stevens has officially assumed the role of Governor at the Central Bank of Sierra Leone, succeeding the esteemed Prof Kelfala Kallon.

Dr. Stevens, who had served as Deputy Governor since 2014, brings a plethora of experience to his new position.

He boasts a distinguished background as a Senior Economist at the Bank of England, and he holds a PhD in Financial Economics from Durham University.

Dr. Stevens’ academic journey has been nothing short of impressive, with notable achievements such as an MSc in Business Finance from Brunel University and a BSc in Economics from the University of Sierra Leone. His appointment as Governor signals a promising future for the nation’s financial sector.
