The Deputy Minister of Mines of Sierra Leone, Hon. UmaruNapoleon Koroma, is currently in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, leading a high level delegation to the 2026 Future Minerals Forum (FMF); a premier global platform shaping the future of minerals, mining, and critical resource development.
He is accompanied by the Deputy Ambassador of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Amb. Abdul Aziz Turay, who continues to support and facilitate Sierra Leone’s strategic engagements at the Forum.
During a major side event, the Africa Leadership Roundtable hosted by the Africa Minerals Strategic Group and chaired by the Minister of Mines of Nigeria, Hon. Koroma delivered a compelling address showcasing Sierra Leone’s rich mineral potential, the country’s growing experience in responsible mining, opportunities for investment and sustainable partnerships and government reforms aimed at transparency and value addition.
The Roundtable brought together influential global stakeholders, including representatives from the World Bank Group, OECD, European Union, African Ministers, Ambassadors, and private‑sector leaders.
