The Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Ghana, Ambassador Asaye Alemayehu Dejjenie, has during a courtesy visit to High Commissioner Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, requested Sierra Leone’s support as his country bids to head the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).
Ambassador Asaye Alemayehu Dejjenie said Ethiopia and Sierra Leone have over the years enjoyed great bilateral relations and that with representatives of both countries in Ghana working together, such can be further strengthened.
He cited visits of top Ethiopian government officials to Sierra Leone with key aims of promoting the agendas of the African continental free Trade.
According to Ambassador Dejjenie governments of Africa should place more emphasis on supporting each other to develop than just looking forward to support from countries of the West that are already developed.

He said that both countries can do more also in areas of trade, and other partnerships through cooperation among other things.
