Two Sierra Leoneans won Best Picture and Best Actor Awards at the Begin Film Festival in California, an offshoot of the Inspire competition.

The Inspire competition was created for filmmakers from all over the continent, but it received nearly 500 submissions and was transformed into a festival.

With filmmakers submitting just five minutes of an idea, it was an accomplishment for Sierra Leone to make it through the stages of three hundred(300), thirty-five(35), ten(10), and finally to the top three, with nominations in the categories of best film, best director, best actress, best actor, and best writing.

Sierra Leone’s ‘Clashofera’, a periodic comedy focusing on climate change and cultural differences, won the grand prize of $1,500 of the total $3,000.

Mary Grace Turay, who made her directorial debut on this film, won along with Zachariah Llyod Sesay, who was nominated for Best Actor.
