Sierra Leonean make-up artist Mary Yei Yongai is about to make history as she kicks off her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Makeup A-Thon at the Bintumani car park in Freetown on Wednesday, April 30th, 2024.

In an ambitious endeavor, Mary Yongai aims to deliver makeup to 100 people over the course of 24 hours, setting a new benchmark for makeup application challenges.

Having received her approval letter from the Guinness World Records in February 2024, Yongai has been tirelessly preparing for this monumental event, with the unwavering support of fellow Sierra Leoneans rallying behind her.

The Makeup A-Thon event is poised to showcase Yongai’s exceptional talent and determination, as well as highlight Sierra Leone’s vibrant beauty industry on a global stage.

As the Makeup a-thon begins, excitement and anticipation are building within the community, with hopes high for Mary Yongai to bring home the Guinness World Record title and make Sierra Leone proud.
