Sky Vision College of Digital Technology and Management has matriculated over One Hundred and Forty students on Diploma Programs and other marketable courses during its maiden matriculation ceremony on Monday, 15th January, 2024 since its establishment at the institution’s premises situated on 5 Main Motor Road, Wilberforce in Freetown.

Present during the ceremony were the representative of National Council for Technical, Vocational and other Academic Awards (NCTVA) Mr. Johnny Massaquoi, on behalf of Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie, the Co-Founders of Sky Vision College, Mr. Shekhar Kadam & Mr. Munish Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Mrs. Reshma Kadam, the staff and the students.

Chief Marketing Officer for Sky Vision College, Reshma Kadam congratulated the students, whiles calling on them to feel prestigious and privileged to be part of the college. She said they are the first batch of students that will shape the future of the Sky Vision College and the country, disclosing that Sky Vision College symbolises the maturing of Sierra Leone’s technical ability and entrepreneurial spirit.

The college offers programs in digital technology and management, which are essential skills for the 21st century. The college aims to provide quality education to young men and women in Africa that is relevant, innovative, and practical, and to produce graduates who are competent, creative, and ethical.

The Directors Mr. Shekhar and Mr. Munish emphasizes that the College aims to provide quality education for all men, women and children in Africa and also to produce graduates that are creative and competent.

The Directors went on that they decided to start the College because they want to help Sierra Leoneans develop their IT skills as digitalisation is now the order of the day.

They said it is now a must that in every profession or duty, one must be computer literate so that one will be able to cope with the rest of the world.

“We believe that we must join other colleges in promoting IT and make sure that we give the best teachings to all. For us, we make sure that nobody leaves our college with his or her certificate without having done his or her training.”

Guest Speaker of the event, Johnny Massaquoi, representing the National Council for Technical Vocational and other Academics (NCTVA) Awards encouraged the student to make use of the opportunity, stating: “You are here to make something of yourself and add value to your life to become Engineers, Information and Communications experts and professionals with respect that comes with good work and rewards.

“We need people who are ready to move this country to the next level of development, people who can carry the flag of this country high, we need a collective vision that describes the kind of future that we want to create for this country. We need the people who are bold and confident and are ready to lead this country and the sub region to the future.”

He assured the students that Sky Vision College will give them the tools to reason, make sound judgments, ask tough questions and become critical thinkers, entrepreneurs or ICT gurus they inspire to become.

He said that the matriculation ceremony marks an important step in their journey towards personal development and fulfilment as well as encouraging the students to be very committed in their studies which he said is the only secret to success.

The highpoint of the ceremony was the signing of the college’s register by the students who went through the matriculation process.
