The Progressive Alliance between the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the National Grand Coalition (NGC) Party has been officially launched.

Key provisions in Transformative Alliance Agreement signed between the SLPP and the NGC include; “That the parties to this agreement agree to maintain their individual identities but work together collaboratively as an Alliance of political parties and both parties are free to fill candidates for both Parliament and Local Council elections.

“That both parties shall cooperate to develop a manifesto for the elections; for the Presidential campaign, the parties agree to establish a Campaign Co-ordination Committee to coordinate the campaigns; and that when the Alliance wins the Presidential election, the NGC should be included in an inclusive Government in which case the NGC shall be allocated a number of positions as mutually agreed in various categories of appointment in governance (e.g. ministers, deputy ministers, ambassadors, board members, etc.). This shall be subject to the approval of the President. See full agreement in our subsequent editions.
